My name is Darren Mann and I'm the manager of an Oxfam bookshop in York.
We've had a large donation of the Rifles Brigade Chronicles, and the Royal Green Jackets Chronicles. It is not a complete set, unfortunately! While we do very good business with Military History in our shop, I feel these wonderful books might deserve a more specialist customer, most likely with a connection to the Regiment. Would you know of anyone who might possibly be interested in purchasing the chronicles, either as a job lot, or individually? If you know of anyone, or any institution that might be interested in puchasing the collection from us I'd be obliged if you could put me in touch with them. My contact details are below. The shop phone number is 01904 652 140. The full details of the collection are listed below for your convenience. We'd really appreciate any help you might be able to offer us with regards this remarkable donation.
We have volumes 2-41 of the RGJ Chronicles, while the Rifle Brigade Chronicles are a little more scattered. 1924-1938 is complete. We then have 1941, 1943, but are missing 1939, 1940, 1942 and 1944. The collection resumes complete between 1946 - 1952, but are missing 1953-1956. 1957 is part of the collection, but no 1958! From 1959 - 1965 we have the complete years. No 1966! Quite a mixed, scattered sequence, as I say! However, if you know of anyone who might be i'd be glad to do a deal on the purchase!
I look forward to hearing from you!
Regards,
Darren.
