Applications are invited for the post of Chief Executive of the North West of
England and the Isle of Man Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, based in Liverpool. This is a Crown Service Grade B2 post that will become vacant in January 2013.
The Chief Executive of the North West of England and the Isle of Man Reserve Forces and Cadets Association is the salaried head of the Secretariat which serves the membership of the Association and all Reserve Forces units and sub units of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces and the Service Cadet organisations in the five counties of Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cheshire plus the Isle of Man.
The present salary is £47,942 (Band Minimum) rising to £57,245 (Band Maximum) per annum.There is a voluntary, final pension scheme and an allowance is payable to offset the contribution.An Association car is provided and applicants must have a current driving licence and be prepared to live within commuting distance of Liverpool.
Applicants may be required to live in tied accommodation which is provided at Altcar some 14 miles from Liverpool.The accommodation comprises a large 2 storey detached house constructed in the early 1900s with 6 bedrooms.It has large gardens that are maintained, a garage and substantial outbuildings.
Applicants should have Service staff and command experience, or civilian equivalent, and be IT literate.Knowledge of the Reserve Forces, Cadets Forces, and MOD budgeting procedures would be advantageous.
The appointment is for a probationary period of 3 months.The successful candidate may be required to pass a medical examination.
