Cadet Expansion officer

·A new post has been created within South East Reverse Forces and Cadets Association for a full-time, fixed-term School Cadet Expansion Officer (SCEO) to drive forward cadet expansion in schools.
·The SCEO will follow up expressions of interest from state schools to identify new opportunities for school based cadet units in order to meet the Government’s target to expand the number of cadet force units in schools.
·He/she will ideally have at least two years’ experience of the cadet forces or a voluntary youth organisation, preferably with experience of working with the education sector.
·The successful candidate will be personable with strong presentational skills, highly motivated, well organised and able to work on his/her own initiative with good problem solving abilities.
·Good verbal and written communication skills will include production of a written monthly progress report and contributions to PR.
·He/ she will be expected to liaise confidently and competently with school Principals and Governors and the relevant regional cadet force headquarters.

The post of Cadet Commandant is a voluntary appointment. However, the successful applicant will be granted the acting rank of Colonel (subject to filling certain criteria), paid as a Lieutenant Colonel, up to a maximum of 28 days per annum under the Paid Training Days scheme. In addition, payment for residence to place of duty and motor mileage allowances may be claimed when on official ACF duty.
Candidates will ideally have served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Regular Army, TA or ACF and be under 55 years of age.
It is a requirement under the Criminal Records Bureau Code of Practice that this position requires an “Enhanced Disclosure” prior to appointment
